企業怎樣應對自然災害（雙語）
Entrepreneurs are known to take risks. But when it comes to dealing with Mother Nature, erring on the side of caution may be a smart move.
企業家總是面臨各種各樣的風險。想要應付自然災害一類的天災，還真是需要防患于未然。
Just this week, an earthquake centered in Virginia shook much of the East Coast and a hurricane is expected to hit Florida on Thursday.
就在最近，弗吉尼亞州發生了一場地震，東海岸大部分地區都受到了重創。佛羅里達州近期也有一場颶風。
Business owners can minimize potential harm from a natural disaster or severe storm by taking the following precautions:
若想要在自然災害或是特大風暴中盡可能減少損失，企業家應當做到如下幾條:
1. Review the fine print on your company's insurance policy. Consider, for example, that hazard insurance doesn't necessarily cover flood insurance.
1. 仔細查看公司的保險條款，比如，看看里面的巨災險中是否包括了洪水災。
2. Make copies of your insurance policy and financial records and store them in a safe place away from your business.
2. 將公司的保險條款文件和財務報表復印好，存放在公司以外的安全地方。
3. Create a checklist that addresses plans for short-term relocation, data back-up and communication systems.
3. 列一個清單，上面記錄好短期的重新安置方案，以及如何做好數據備份和通訊系統恢復等工作。
4. Provide supervisors and employees with instructions on what they should do in the event of an emergency. Remind them of it at least once a year.
4. 為公司的領導和員工配發求生指南，指導他們在緊急情況下應如何應對。提醒他們至少一年溫習一次。
5. Regularly update employee, customer and vendor contact information and store copies in a remote location.
5. 經常更新員工、客戶和供應商的聯系方式，將備份文件存放在遠離公司的地方。
6. Regularly check that gas lines, water heaters and other hazardous equipment are secure. Likewise, make sure ceiling lights, windows, picture frames, bookshelves and other hanging fixtures items are properly braced.
6. 經常檢查天然氣管道、熱水器和其他可能造成災害的設施，確保安全。同樣，也要檢查吊燈、窗戶、畫框、書架和其他一些掛件，確保這些東西安放得很牢固。
7. Check the quality of your establishment's roof at least once a year. A well-functioning roof should be able to protect the entire structure.
